Sample Images for PresentationThis presentation will look at the first century of photographic activity through the lenses of women.  We will begin with early pioneers like Anna Atkins, look at the remarkable portraits and subject images of Julia Margaret Cameron and the less well-known work of her contemporary, Lady Clementina Hawarden, then trace the rapid growth of women in the field during the Pictorialist movement of the late 19th/early 20th century and also resulting from the invention of the Kodak.  We will finish up by looking at a few of leading women photographers of the 1920s and 1930s, Margaret Bourke-White, Dorothea Lange and Bernice Abbott.
