Samantha Heilweil Earns a Perfect Score for “Looking Out on a Rainy Day” in our January Photo Competition

Congratulations to Samantha Heilweil for achieving a perfect score of 27 from our three judges at our January’s competition.  Samantha’s image was submitted into the Color Print Class A Open Subject category.

Here’s what Samantha had to say about the image:

“On November 21, 2019, I was on a Viking Ocean Cruise and because of a bad storm, the boat could not even dock at the Monaco Port and we docked at near by Villefranche, France.   After spending an hour or so walking around in the pouring rain, we climbed aboard a bus to be driven to visit Monaco in the pouring rain.  I was glad to get me and my brand new Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II out of the rain into the bus where I could take pictures of the lovely scenery looking at the pouring rain through the bus window!  I shot with a Olympus PRO 12-40mm  lens at 1/320 sec at f/4.5, ISO 200, shutter priority.  Minimal post processing was done in LR.  I did crop a fair amount to give a somewhat more abstract quality to the image and to give more emphasis and importance to the rain on the window.”
