Rosemary Consunji Earns a Perfect Score for “Hurry, Take Cover!”
Club member Rosemarie Consunji’s image Hurry, Take Cover! earned a perfect score of 27 from our three judges for April’s competition. Rosemarie’s image was submitted into the Color Print Class A Open Subject category.
Rosemarie says about the image:
“I took that photo in Newport, RI in the fall of 2011 (yes, over three years ago). We were walking around the waterfront before sundown and the the dark heavy clouds started hovering above the harbor. Yup, yup, it was the perfect photo opportunity. Within three minutes of taking the photo, all hell broke lose and it started pouring buckets. Fortunately, we managed to find some shelter and I managed keep my camera dry.
But when I went to post-process the image, I could never get the photo to look as how I remember experiencing the dramatic scene. I tried all sorts of things, masks, layers, etc. but I could never get it to work. Then NIK came into my life and everything changed. I really like its U-point control technology. It is so much easier to use than masking and layers which I still have to master .”
