Photo Opportunity: Buttonwood Farm Sunflowers July 20-28, 2013

One of the great highlights in the late summer months is seeing Buttonwood Farm’s acres of Sunflowers glowing in the sunset light.

This month is the expected bloom of sunflowers, and Buttonwood farms in Griswold, CT has acres of them for photographic pleasures.

Their annual event, Sunflowers for Wishes, runs this year from July 20 through July 28.  During this time, they open the farm to the public to wander the fields of sunflowers.

The landscape opportunities are greatly improved with partly cloudy skies in the late afternoon/early evening light, so keep an eye on the weather forecasts, and when it looks promising, take a ride on over to the farm and take the opportunity to snap a couple of shots.

Bring your sweet tooth with you, as Buttonwood Farms also makes and sells their own ice cream.  There’s lots of flavors to choose from.
