Our judges for this evening will be:

Dick Ventre

Dick, a resident of Norwalk, completed his 45-year career as a Scenic Artist in 2012.  He was a Master Scenic Artist on more than 50 movies including the Emmy Award winning Death of a Salesman, and the Academy Award winning Sleepy Hollow.  He completed that career painting for the Metropolitan Opera.

His work in photography is in the medium of photomontage.  He works exclusively in dramatic narrative by depicting the painted female nude set within a landscape environment.  Each work is rendered from multiple images that are digitally woven together.

Earlier this year he exhibited his Solo Show, GODDESS OF THE HUNT: After Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Diana at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, Upstairs Gallery.  He recently returned from his second visit to Sweden to complete the photographic work begun in 2013. Traveling from the Stockholm Archipelago to the woodlands of central Sweden, this second photographic survey, as well as working with the staff at Zornmuseet in the town of Mora to research the work of Sweden’s premiere painter, Anders Zorn, will form the base for his next series: interpreting Zorn’s painted nudes in nature.

More of his work may be viewed on the website:  rventre.com

Dick is a returning judge for our Club.
