Our next competition of the season is this Wednesday, December 2, 2015

The assigned subject for December is Room With A View.

Print submissions are accepted until 7:15 pm the evening of the competition. The meeting will begin promptly at 7:30pm.

Our judges for this evening will be:

Carmine Picarello – www.picarellophoto.com

For 25 years, Carmine Picarello has worked with creative directors and photo editors to craft images for commercial advertising, editorial publications, and corporate image libraries for local and Fortune 500 companies. His fine art photography can be found in the United Nations UNICEF art collection as well as in private and corporate collections.

Picarello has been an Adjunct Professor at Housatonic Community College, teaching photography for fourteen years, an instructor at The Silvermine Art Guild, and a member of the Arts Curriculum Development Team for the City of Norwalk.

His company, Carmine Picarello Photography, an award-winning studio in Westport, CT, specializes in commercial photography tailored for use in a wide range of applications such as websites, catalogs and advertising. Picarello holds a BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago.

Jeremy Frost

Jeremy has been involved in photography from an early age, beginning his darkroom days at thirteen. He was a Partner in Shafer Studios in Schenectady, NY performing a broad range of services including general coverage and portraiture for Union College and Russell Sage College, as well as general studio work. He later moved to NYC and photographed for the William Doyle Gallery.

His photographs have been published in the New York Times (sports) and in publications relating to the antiques trade including The Magazine ANTIQUES. He is a past President and Chair for judging at the Norwalk Camera Club. He has won awards for his work in national and international competitions. He and his wife have created Frostedworks, a studio at 99 Franklin Street, Westport, CT.

Ron Landis received his BA and MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an Executive Management certificate From Penn State University. He spent 38 years in executive management but even before and throughout his business career Ron had a keen interest in photography having had wonderful opportunities to capture exotic images as he traveled the globe for business. Ron was Vice President of the Norwalk Camera Club, Chair of the Judges’ Circle, and has judged photography contests throughout Connecticut and New York.

He taught photography at the Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) in Norwalk, a nonprofit organization dedicated to families and children with special challenges: http://norwalk.itsrelevant.com/content/14660/Young-Photographers-Showcase-Work-in-BUILD. However he has had to suspend his work with FCA due to a long bout with Lyme Disease.
