New club member Chaula Vora had a fantastic start to her first season with SPC, recording a perfect score of 27 with her very first submission from our three judges at our December’s competition.  Chaula’s image was submitted into the Digital Projected Image Class Salon Open Subject category as a make-up submission.

Here’s what Chaula had to say about the image:

“This image was taken in Guilin region of  Southern China. While Cormorant fishing is no longer in vogue, this incredibly pleasant fisherman (whose forefathers were all fisherman) tries to keep the tradition alive by dressing up and showing it how it is done. I asked him if he could drop me to my Hotel in his little raft since it was quite dark at the end of the shoot.

Being pecked by the Cormorant birds on that narrow bamboo raft on pitch dark lake was an experience in itself.”

Congratulations Chaula!  Your image was added to the Perfect Score Gallery.
